"We want the entire world to enjoy our music. While listening to our music, your life will Change,” says Mel, Big T. & Accie. BIU has a special gift for making each individual in an audience feel personally ministered to. Their album ’Change’ is full of life and everyday experiences. This is an album that you can sit down, feel good about you, feel good about being a child of God and relate to it spiritually and lyrically. This is BIU’s first album and was produced by Charles ‘Tony’ Homer. Tony has worked with several great R&B artists in the industry. His heart has always been gospel, so this was an incredible blessing to him as well.
When we first met Tony Homer, we didn’t know whether we wanted to work with him or if he wanted to work with us, “says Mel.” We were a little nervous and didn’t really know what to expect. That soon changed. Tony made us feel at home, immediately. He and his team took the powerful song, Believe, and made it great. “At that time, we knew that we were in good hands. “I wrote this song, after seeing so many people heading in the wrong direction,” says Accie. “Seeing children fighting their parents, our brothers selling drugs and killing one another, ladies prostituting, and etc., I wanted everyone to know, If you don’t believe in anyone or anything else, believe in Jesus with all your heart mind and soul. He is the one that can turn things around in your life.”
Tony is a ‘hit-maker’ you will come to know very soon.
We worked on this project for 1 year, “Says Big T.” We never knew the amount of work an album required. We were definitely not use to 15 hour days and all-nighters.
‘Change’ the title track is a song you must hear. It will really make you think and repent if your life is not right with Christ or your spouse. Praise Party will get you out of your seat and make you wanna dance and praise God. “What Have I Done” is a song that explains how God blesses our lives daily, that many times we don’t deserve, but he continues being there for us through thick and thin. That’s an awesome God!
This album is irresistible. It is an album you want to give to your spouse, your children, your parents, and friends. It’s something on there for everyone. I guarantee it!
While working in Las Vegas and beating the streets, Terry and Accie, got together and formed a duo. They sang together in churches and other local events in the Las Vegas area. In the mid 90’s, they moved back to North Carolina and dedicated their lives to Christ. They began to call themselves Brothers – In – Unity. “Although, 2 – part harmony was tight, we needed more to make even a greater sound for the lord,” says Terry. Shortly afterwards, their youngest brother, Melvin while in college, began to sing with the group. They began to sing at talent shows and local benefits. They sang many places and saw a lot of young and older people lives changing because of their style of gospel music and their lyric content. Their style was much different but incredibly effective. Everywhere they sang, they captured people’s ear and hearts.
BIU has a very strong ministry. Their evangelistic ministry includes: reaching out to different communities to minister to the young and older people. They are all active in their local church. “Growing up in the same house was sometimes challenging but good,” says BIU. We got a chance to learn each other not only as brothers, but also friends, says Terry. They were born and raised in a small town called Hobgood, North Carolina. They are all powerful men of God and have a strong love for people.
BIU joined up with MGA Management Company in 1997. They worked with them physically, mentally and vocally to pursue a professional singing career. In 2003, Mike Griffin formed his own label called MGA Music Group, and signed BIU. “I did not want BIU to continue to go through what a lot of upcoming artists go through in the business. They were incredibly talented and I knew that they had what it took to be successful in the business,” says Mike G., President of MGA Music Group.
BIU gets immediate attention wherever they go because of their look. They have a great sound and dance that will, hopefully, take them to the top.
