Ronzel Pretlow has been one of gospel music's well-kept secrets since 2000. The tidal wave of critical and popular acclamation he has generated with his hit single, "It Overflows," has become an almost instant classic, even as MGA Music Group proudly announces the release of Ronzel's highly anticipated new release ‘PHENOMENAL'.

Ronzel, the son of a minister, grew up in a family of talented singers and musicians. Today, he explains that there was not a musical artist in particular who encouraged him to sing, but his true inspiration to sing came from his passion for music itself.

At the age of 10, Ronzel began to play the drums and bass guitar in his father's church.  As a teenager, he started a Christian singing group with his brothers called "The Pretlow Brothers" They traveled and performed at local churches and events throughout the state of Virginia.

Seeing many people lives changing as he performed, Ronzel knew he was destined to do greater things in the kingdom of God.  One evening he was singing at a church service where Carlton Pearson was in attendance and Ronzel's one-of-a-kind vocal prowess absolutely mesmerized and enthralled Pearson. Two weeks later, Pearson flew him to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be a featured artist on his CD, "Live at Azusa" along with the incomparable Shirley Caesar and LaShun Pace.  "It Overflows" were #2 on Bobby Jones countdown and #13 on the Gospel Billboard.

"Azusa was a launching pad for my career and I am grateful to Carlton Pearson.  Many of the greats were launched from the Azusa platform and I am grateful to have been one of those persons."

In addition, Ronzel has ministered through song for some of the most phenomenal visionaries in our time, such as Dr. Creflo Dollar. He has also been featured in one of gospel music's top magazines "Charisma. "

Ronzel is the senior pastor at ‘The Church of Purpose' located in Newport News, Virginia.  He is devoted to encouraging the Body of Christ to discover their true purpose and fulfill their destiny in the kingdom.
